Strategies
Most of the best day trading strategies doing the rounds are never actually tested by the people teaching them. So I take the ones worth a look, rebuild the rules properly in Pine Script, and run them over a year of real data before saying whether they hold up.
Each guide below covers one strategy in full: what the setup is, exactly how the entry is triggered, where the stop and target go, and the backtest result at the end — including the ones that turn out to be duds. They are written for day traders working intraday timeframes on NQ, gold and the indices, with prop firm drawdown limits in mind.
Gold + MNQ · 4 hour candle closure
Tom Camp Strategy
One 4‑hour candle sweeps the high or low of the candle before it, then closes back through it. That reclaim sets your bias. The full method, which 4‑hour candles matter most, and the gold backtest on both timeframes.
NQ · Fair value theory
JJ Simons NQ Strategy
The pre-open price becomes fair value, which gives you a continuation trade away from the line and a reversion trade back toward it. Full rules, the displacement and BOS/MSB entry model, ATR based stops, and the 365 day result.
